The Terms of Our Service
Last updated: June 2026
Welcome to Billingshurst Plumbing and Heating. These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which you may use our website and ask us to carry out plumbing and heating work. Please read them carefully. By visiting our website, making an enquiry, requesting a quote or instructing us to do work, you confirm that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use our website or instruct us.
1. Who We Are
This website is run by Billingshurst Plumbing and Heating, a local plumbing and heating company serving Billingshurst and the surrounding parts of West Sussex. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Billingshurst Plumbing and Heating, and “you” and “your” mean the person or business using our website or engaging our services. 2. Our Services
We provide domestic and commercial plumbing, heating and gas services, including repairs, installations, servicing and emergency call-outs. Any work we carry out on gas appliances or systems is completed by Gas Safe registered engineers. Descriptions of our services on this website are for general information and do not form part of any contract until we have confirmed the work in a quote or agreement.
3. Using Our Website
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not affect the rights of others or restrict their use of it. You must not misuse the site by knowingly introducing viruses or other harmful material, or by attempting to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server it is stored on or any connected system.
4. Quotes and Agreements
Any quote we give is based on the information available to us at the time and remains valid for the period stated. A binding agreement is formed only once we have provided a quote or written confirmation and you have accepted it. If the work required changes, or if we find additional issues once work has begun, we will discuss this with you and agree any change in cost before continuing wherever possible.
5. Charges and Payment
Our charges will be set out in your quote or agreed with you before work begins. Where work is charged by the hour or on a call-out basis, we will make this clear in advance. Unless otherwise agreed:
• Payment is due on completion of the work or in line with the terms stated on your invoice
• Prices may include or exclude the cost of parts and materials, as set out in your quote
• We reserve the right to charge for additional work that falls outside the original quote, subject to your agreement
6. Your Responsibilities
To help us carry out work safely and efficiently, you agree to give us safe and reasonable access to the property and the relevant systems, provide accurate information about the work required and any known issues, and let us know of anything that may affect the work, such as hidden pipework or previous alterations. You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed from landlords, freeholders or other parties before work begins.
7. Our Service Standards
We take pride in our work and aim to carry out all services with reasonable care and skill, using suitable materials and recognised working practices. Where a job requires specialist parts or further visits, we will let you know and keep you informed of progress.
8. Third Parties
In some cases we may need to work alongside or rely on other trades or suppliers to complete a job. We will take reasonable care in doing so, but we are not responsible for the standard of work carried out by third parties you have engaged directly.
9. Approvals and Regulations
Certain work may be subject to building regulations, gas regulations or other approvals. We will carry out our work to the required standards and, where relevant, provide the appropriate certificates. It is your responsibility to make us aware of any specific approvals or conditions that apply to your property.
10. Intellectual Property
The content on this website, including text, images, logos and design, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other rights. You may view and print pages for your own personal or business use, but you may not copy, reproduce or use our content for any other purpose without our permission.
11. Confidentiality
We treat any information you share with us in the course of our work as confidential and will not disclose it to others except where necessary to carry out the work or where required by law.
12. Data Protection
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it and the rights you have. By using our website or our services, you acknowledge that we may process your information in this way.
13. Website Content and Accuracy
We make every effort to keep the information on our website accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete or free from errors. The content is provided for general information only and should not be relied upon as advice for your specific circumstances.
14. Links to Other Websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only, and we have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss that may arise from your use of them.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we will not be liable for any loss or damage that is not a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms, or for any business losses where you are using our services other than as a consumer.
16. Cancellation and Termination
If you need to cancel or rearrange booked work, please let us know as soon as possible. We reserve the right to charge for materials already purchased or work already carried out. We may also end an agreement where you fail to make payment or where it is not safe or reasonable for us to continue.
17. Refunds
Where a refund is due, we will deal with it fairly and in line with your legal rights. Any refund will normally be made using the same method you used to pay.
18. Your Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to services that are not carried out with reasonable care and skill, and these rights are not affected by these Terms. For more information about your rights, you can contact your local Citizens Advice service.
19. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in carrying out our work that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, supply shortages or other circumstances we could not have foreseen. If such an event occurs, we will contact you and take reasonable steps to reduce any delay.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your work is the one in place at the time we agree it with you. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
